1985: Foundation of Wehrli Maschinenbau
In 1985, Hermann Wehrli laid the foundation for what is now Wecotech AG. The then 23-year-old founder pursued the vision of building machines and making a meaningful contribution to world affairs through his success. In his search for his own products, the company, then known as Wehrli Maschinenbau, initially gained a foothold in the contract manufacturing of CNC-machined machine parts. This opened up the opportunity for the resourceful developer to design and build machines and tools for the burgeoning metal chimney market. The expansion and reduction of chimney, ventilation, and furnace pipes was continuously developed and perfected until Wehrli Maschinenbau dominated the market. These innovative concepts quickly gained traction in vehicle exhaust technology, water pipe systems, and many other applications.
1997: Wehrli Maschinenbau becomes two independent companies: Wecotech AG Tube-End-Forming and Wehrli Fertigungstechnik
As an established supplier of tools and machines for tube-end forming, the company decided in 1997 to separate contract manufacturing from mechanical engineering and transform Wehrli Maschinenbau into two independent companies: Wecotech AG Tube-End-Forming and Wehrli Fertigungstechnik.
2000: Foundation of Wecotech AG Telescopic-Fork
With the development of telescopic forks and components for storage and conveying technology, Wecotech AG Telescopic-Fork was founded in 2000 and has since supplied renowned plant manufacturers worldwide.
2008: Foundation of Wecotech Hellas
In response to increasing globalization, Hermann Wehrli founded Wecotech Hellas in 2008 to secure a competitive advantage through CNC parts manufactured in Greece at favorable conditions.
Company anniversaries: 20 years of Wecotech AG
In 2015, we celebrated 30 years since the laying of the foundation stone, and in 2017, Wecotech AG marked 20 successful years. These anniversaries are a reason to pause and say thank you to everyone who has contributed to the company's success.
2017: Founding of Changzhou Wecotech Tube End Forming Technology Co., Ltd
Success in the Chinese market prompted Wecotech to establish its own sales and service office in Changzhou in 2017, in order to continue to benefit from the booming market in China.
2020: Wecotech AG handed over to younger hands
In 2019, the time had come to hand over the companies to younger hands. The official handover was completed in 2020. Hermann Wehrli continues to support the two young entrepreneurs with advice and assistance.
2024: Wecotech expands its presence in India
Wecotech is strategically expanding its presence in India to be closer to its customers and to optimally serve the growing local market. By developing local structures, Wecotech can respond more quickly to customer needs, implement projects more efficiently, and strengthen long-term partnerships. The direct presence in India also underscores the company's commitment to driving innovative and precise manufacturing solutions internationally.
